Saturday 15th November – Carrock Fell and Bowscale Fell

A Nice little twelve mile outing from the tiny hamlet of Bowscale over Carrock Fell by a path previously unknown to us and avoiding the rather slippery scramble.  Next up Bowscale Fell, which emerged from the mist and then out to the tongue and back before heading down Smile

Friday 31st November - Castel d’Alaro

Our final day in Mallorca and we decided to drive to Orient to climb up to the monastery with a cafe/bar at the summit, amazing views and easy day.  Back to Bunyola for lunch at the station Smile

Thursday 30th October - Deia to Valdemossa

Down the coast to Deia to climb up to the Plateau and the col de son Gallard with the idea of summiting the only peak on the plateau that we haven’t visited previously – of Talaia Vella  before taking the Archdukes path and completing a circular route back to the start.  The reality was that the path had been diverted from that on our map and we found ourselves at the end of the walk in Valdemossa along the coast.  No matter, a taxi shared with a boy and his dad who had completed the same route conveniently meant  that the cost was shared.  The col and the new summit were visited along with a spectacular mirador for lunch.   Arriving back in Deia with time for a stroll up to the top of the village to the church of San Juan Bautista with its beautiful churchyard and font.

Wednesday took us along the coast to Valldemossa and along the valley to climb up to the refugio and then onto the Archdukes paths towards Es Teix where we’ve been several times.  This time we headed to the summit of Sa Galera and were rewarded with some of the best views ever for lunch Smile
